- The NUP is for Malaysians only.
- All applicants must meet the standard minimum entry requirements for course admission into programme applied for, as required by MQA and HELP University.
- Applicants must attach all relevant documents, that include, inter alia, academic qualification certificates, salary slip and evidence of unemployment, with their application for course admission, for assessment for course admission and NUP eligibility.
- For the purposes of the NUP, senior citizens are individuals who are 60 years old and above.
- The NUP scheme is applicable for applications received from 1st January to 31 December 2024.
- NUP applicants must be earning a monthly salary of not more than RM8,000.
- Candidates are given up to three (3) years to complete the programme. If candidates have not completed the course requirement within 3 years, they shall continue the programme by enrolling for subjects not yet completed at the regular applicable fee rate at the time of re-enrolment, (not the NUP rate).
- If the candidate has failed a module/course subject, the candidate will be given an opportunity to repeat the module/course subject by re-enrolling for the subject(s) at the initial NUP rate of module fee. If the student fails the same course subject twice, the third enrolment shall be at regular applicable fee at the time of re-enrolment, (not the NUP rate). Candidates are given a maximum of three (3) enrolments to pass the same subject.
